BRIGHTON — The Beer Burglars, quickly rounding into post-season form, eviscerated the Makisupa Policemen and Notorious BBH Sunday, sweeping a doubleheader on a gorgeous afternoon at Daly Field.

Excepting a sloppy, who-gives-a-shit final inning against Makisupa (that counted only because the Burglars waived the “Slaughter Rule”), the Burglars (4-1) outscored their opponents 35-7 on the day.

Burglars’ bats were keyed by Danny Badger, who, due to Daly Field’s anti-home-run configuration, was credited with five ground-rule triples.  All five balls were hit — nay, launched — to right-center; two of them ended up across Soldiers Field Road.

Defensively, the Burglars played near-flawless softball (again, excepting a sloppy, who-gives-a-flying-fuck final inning against Makisupa). Facing a lineup with two or three collegiate baseball players, the Burglars’ gloves held Notorious BBH to three unearned runs.

Tyler “Steamboat” Mathers pitched two complete games to raise his record to 4-1.

The Burglars are off until June 2nd, when they play Dizzy Buddha at Connell Field.

I think now is the time that you need to thank your two super-fans for being in attendance at every win so far this season. Coincidence? I think not.
